Star Wars fans again are gonna be happy with what we’ve seen today during day 14 of Sideshow Collectibles Online Comic-Con Event. The items up today are the Snowtrooper 1:6th figure and the 1:6th E-Web cannon. The Snowtrooper comes in with a price of $150, exclusive vintage blaster (exclusive only), and you can flex pay this item if you need to. The E-Web cannon also costs $150 with the flex pay but makes for a great partner piece for any Snowtrooper display. Both items are due to ship early next year! Day 13 of Sideshow Collectibles Online Comic-Con turned out to be lucky for fans of The Lord of the Rings, DC, Star Wars and Avatar. Fans of The Lord of the Rings get to finally pre-order the Twilight Witch-King statue from The Fellowship of the Ring. This superb statue is a great counter part to the Ringwraith statue released previously in this range of collectibles. The Witch-King will cost $275 with a $27 NRD but you do have the Flex-Pay program to save up for the March 2013 release. Fans of the Star Wars Saga get a pre-order and a preview during day 13 of the event. The Pre-Order is the cooler of the Fetts in my opinion in Jango Fett with a 1:1 bust. This highly detailed bust will cost $800 with a $80 NRD as always you have the flex pay program to help defer the costs until the February 2013 release. The preview is for my personal favorite Jedi in the Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. No details other than this great preivew below but as soon as I get more info I will pass it on. DC fans get a preview of the upcoming Catwoman Legendary Scale Figure and Avatar fans get a preview of the life size bust of Neytiri.
Day eight of Sideshow Collectibles Online Comic-Con event brings us the first Comic-Con Exclusive and a life-sized bust from the DC Universe. The first Comic-Con Exclusive up for order to anyone is Commander Fox from The Clone Wars series. Commander Fox is an in-stock purchase and will ship in 24 hours after the $135 is charged. The other item up today is another in the 1:1 bust line of DC characters from Sideshow. The next character fans can purchase is The Man of Steel himself Superman. This amazing bust was sculpted by Andy Bergholtz (a fellow Missourian) and I must say this is an awesome piece. Supes will set ya back $680 with a $68 NRD but does have the flex pay option to make things easier in order to get to the December 2012 release date.
The fifth day of Sideshow Collectibles online event brings us a Star Wars 1:6th figure from the Scum and Villainy line. The bounty hunter joining the line is none other than your favorite lizard Bossk! This is a must have if you’re a fan of bounty hunters and will look amazing as you will see with the already released Boba Fett and IG-88. Bossk will cost ya $160, a flex pay plan (if you need to use it), and won’t ship until December. The exclusive on Bossk will be a change out sculpt giving you multiple display options or better yet just buy two!
Day 2 of Sideshow Collectibles online event brings us a two-piece Premium Format from Star Wars. Fans are finally getting the long awaited duo of C-3PO and R2-D2. The exclusive (which sold out in mintues) gives us these two droids cleaned up and on separate bases while the regular version gives us these all dirty on a single sand base from ROTJ. Both of these will set you back $750 from Sideshow with the usual NRD of $75 charged within 24-48 hours of purchase. Sideshow is also offering the flex pay program so it will be easier for someone to afford. Don’t forget to use the affiliate links if you decide to order.
Another week and more news coming from the two of the worlds best collectibles companies in Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys. Both companies this week delievered huge news for fans of Marvel and Star Wars. Sideshow Collecitlbes showed off multiple Star Wars items this week with the Utapau Airborne Trooper (which will go up for order next week), showed Commander Fox (one of the Comic-Con 2012 exclusives), and a sneek peak of parts of the next Darth Vader 1:6th. Hot Toys released a teaser image of the Iron Man Mark VII from this summers blockbuster The Avengers as well as the Black Widow figure going up for Pre-Order through Sideshow Collectibles. Jointly also we’ve been teased with what appears to be the Rescue Captain America 1:6th figure which will be a Comic-Con 2012 exclusive. As I get more information on all these items I will make sure to let you all know.
Today was a big day for collectors. Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys, and the folks from Weta are making collectors around the world very happy. The Lord of the Rings fans are getting a truly awesome treat from Weta with the announcement they will be making the environment Barad-Dur: Fortress of Sauron. Weta will be letting us know along the way the process to bringing this collectible to life and as soon as any info is out I will let you know.
Star Wars fans got a real treat from Sideshow Collectibles today via their Facebook page with a preview of the new 1:6th Darth Vader figure with reveal sculpt. No word on anything just yet on price or not but I would expect as we get closer to Comic-Con we’ll know more. Sideshow also via their Sideshow Experience page of an upcoming premium format for the character Hawkeye. Hot Toys and Sideshow have teamed up for one of Sideshow’s Comic-Con Exclusive in the USO Rescue Captain America 1:6th figure via their Facebook page.
This week collectors had were given the chance to order multiple items from all the major collecting companies from any license they really would want to buy from. These companies literally covered all my favorite licenses this week with The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, and Star Wars. Needless to say this was a great week for collectors on top of a great film like The Avengers coming out.
Now what exactly came out and from whom:
Sideshow Collectibles – Sideshow released the first statue from what is sure to be an amazing line of statues from the Star Wars saga. Darth Maul is the first character from the new Mythos line which gives us a look at the Star Wars characters we love but in moments we didn’t see in the films or cartoon. Maul in his statue is obviously training as he prepares to do Darth Sidious bidding in tearing apart the galaxy. The price for Darth Maul is $250 with a $25 NRD and a shipping in October of 2012. Do so now before its too late and you’re left holding the bag.
Weta Workshop – The folks at Weta released the third statue in their mini-statue line of characters from The Lord of the Rings. The character who is joining the line up of characters is none other than that ranger known as Strider. This amazing statue is such a great representation of the character and happens to be from a moment when we first meeting him both in the movie and book. The price for Stirder is only $75 and he won’t be shipping until September/October of this year so please make sure you get this statue.
Hot Toys – Hot Toys has given us the next character from this summer’s amazing move The Avengers with The God of Thunder himself Thor. This version of Thor is pretty awesome and I think a bit better than the first figure of the character. Thor comes with multiple hands and the cosmic cubes holding tube which will run you $200 but he won’t be shipping until December of this year. You can order this through Sideshow Collectibles or your favorite etailer.
Gentle Giant – Another item from The Avengers comes to us from the folks of Gentle Giant. The Mark VII suit that Tony Stark breaks out during the movie is the first mini-bust from Gentle Giant for The Avengers. Right now the image is just a conceptual photo from the movie but it gives you an idea of what it will look like. Also if you order this weekend it will only cost you $59 with free shipping and starting Monday it will bump up to $85.
Tonight’s, Sideshow Collectibles Newsletter brings us two really cool items. Star Wars fans get a chance to finally add the Tusken Raider to their 1:6th scale collection. This Tusken Raider will be from A New Hope and looks totally awesome. Previews for the this figure will be up next Tuesday via the Sideshow Blog and then up for order next Thursday. If you’re a fan of Tim Miller and his amazing work then you’re sure to love the Lady Death Premium format. As always Tim has knocked it out of the park and made Death actually something that you wouldn’t mind getting a hug from.
Today, I have for your viewing pleasure a review of the Sideshow Collectibles Battle Droid 2-Pack. These were first shown around Comic-Con last year looking very impressive and came out in production as good. The 2-Pack really shows the steps Sideshow has taken in what they’re willing to give a go in 1:6th scale and that they will be willing to tackle more complex projects. This Droid set comes in with a price tag of $120 but includes two figures making it a great price of only $60 per set. The Exclusive set has a wait list which includes the special 1138 backpack, but the regular version of the set is listed as in-stock and can be shipped to your door in 24.
As always here’s the review and pics. Thanks for watching.
